This model was inspired by a visit to IBM's Ease of use research group.
One of the models they demonstrated was a Java version of the Attribute Explorer, based on an idea by Bob Spence of Imperial College, London. This is an implementation of that tool using TkEden. I gave a presentation to Bob Spence and the Ease of use research group on our version of the Attribute Explorer and its possibilities (see the slides at ...). One of the most striking things about it was the fact that the engine of our version fitted onto one piece of A4 paper, the rest of the code was to write the visualisations from scratch. This model allows you to enter data for a number of fields from a list and then see the results in a bar chart format. Scrollbars can be dragged and resized to formulate interactive queries on the data. By moving the mouse over elements of data the details are displayed in another window. The draggable scrollbar widgets and draggable windows were developed for the first time for TkEden in this model.
