The interface to the sisyphus model is highly reticent. It provides the user with a list of options or fixes, enabling them to make blind changes to the configuration of an elevator in an attempt to satisfy pre-defined constraints. Once a satisfactory configuration has been achieved, sisyphus annouces this fact, displaying "All Constraints Satisfied" on screen. It is not easy for a user to observe the result of changes without asking EDEN for the information, and without having quite an in-depth knowledge of how all the variables are related. How is the general user meant to know which variables have changed as a result of the fix? In addition, the user is required to ask EDEN for the current value of a variable before they can make a decision as to which fix to use!
These drawScout adaptations act as an aid to the usability of the sisyphus model, as well as its intelligibility, enabling the modeller to make the observables more readily observable.
