The restaurant model is a superb example of how quickly a protoype simulation can be built using Empirical Modelling. This whole model was built from scratch
in a weekend. It shows a physical view of an imaginary restaurant with tables and chairs. There is a booking sheet which shows the bookings for the restaurant and the times people are coming and the names. A clock is used to step through the simulation and each time an event occurs (someone rings up wanting a table for a later time, walks off the street wanting a table now, or rings up to cancel) the simulation stops and the user is placed in the role of the restaurant manager having to decide whether to accept or reject the booking. Customer data can be recorded for use with an analysis tool - see README for details on how to link the restaurant simulation with the Attribute Explorer (attributeexplorerRoe2000).
