Many papers published by the Empirical Modelling group have claimed that our
approach is a 'radical generalisation of spreadsheets'. To explain this claim the spreadsheet
model can implement conventional numeric spreadsheets such as found in Microsoft Excel.
However, it can do more. The dependencies can be across a far wider range of types, drawings,
images and presentational attributes (see Examples/Dependencies). We can also embed
previously existing models inside the spreadsheet (see Examples/Models). Currently we have
embedded Attribute Explorer (attributeexplorerRoe2000), the restaurant model
(restaurantRoe2000) and a sorting laboratory (WMB to do!!).
