This model was developed in conjunction with my developing understanding of solving sudoku puzzles. The purpose of the exercise was not to develop a computer program capable of providing the solution to any logically solvable sudoku puzzle; rather, it was to explore ways in which the puzzle solving exercise could be usefully supported by the computer and how the skills of a human solver could be embodied in a computer-based artefact.
The model is particularly interesting in highlighting the distinction between th puzzle in itsef and the logical next step, to the solver's construal of the puzzle and their ability to perceive the next possibility.
